Auto Accident or any other Personal Injury Cases are usually retained on what is called a Contingency Fee, meaning.  The Attorneys Fees are portioned and taken at the end of the case when a recovery has been made for your injuries and damages. However, if the case has difficulties in its process as the attorney deems, Attorney may ask for another Fee Agreement, such as as a hourly fee agreement or hybrid
Example: if Patty got into auto accident that is not her fault, she will qualify for a Contingency Fee Retainer. She would not need put any money from her pocket.  When a recovery is made for Patty, the attorneys fees and any other expenses incurred will usually be deducted from the end recovery and the remainder dispersed to client.
Remember, every case is different and has its own cycle and strategy depending on your attorney.
